The City of Pembroke Pines and the Frank Art Gallery are pleased to present 'On the Samara's Wing: Ethnobotanical Negotiations of Cultural Space. On the Samara's Wing will be on display from October 21, 2021 – January 23, 2022.
The City of Pembroke Pines and Frank C. Ortis Art Gallery present On the Samara's Wing, an exhibition that focuses on artists who explore immigration, diaspora, transnational identity, race and belonging through dramatic allegories of landscape, botany, textiles and organic materials. Exhibiting artists include John Alleyne, Edouard Duval-Carrié, Gonzalo Fuenmayor, Rhea Leonard, T. Eliott Mansa, Lisyanet Rodriguez and Onajídé Shabaka.
In the Third Space Gallery at The Frank, Green Space Initiative grantee recipient Alma Leiva will exhibit her photography series Celdas. The Frank Aisles will host a solo exhibition by photographer Love Soulèy.
The Opening Reception for On the Samara's Wing will take place on Thursday, October 21st 2021 from 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM. Free to the public. Complimentary refreshments and hors d’oeuvres will be served.
