Ephemeral Construct

February 8, 2024 - May 18th, 2024

This exhibition is a multifaceted artistic exploration that delves into the ephemeral aspects of our environment and existence, at the intersection of art, ecology, and technology through solo presentations by four visionary artists.

Collectively, artists portray the transient nature of life, highlighting themes like loss, fragility, and the passage of time through narratives on the balance of the natural world, digital human interactions, and urban-natural landscapes. The works blend natural elements, digital and analog technologies, and innovative artistic methods to address contemporary issues like endangered species, ecological systems, and modern communication, creating a dialogue about the ephemerality of existence and the artists' creative responses to our evolving world.

Challenging conventional notions of permanence and encouraging a deeper appreciation of the fleeting moments that shape our understanding of the world, Ephemeral Construct invites us to ponder the impermanent nature of our constructed reality, embrace the temporary, and acknowledge the role of art in capturing and reflecting the transient essence of life.

Curated by Sophie Bonet, with special acknowledgment to Juliana Forero for her curatorial insights.

Artists: Alejandra Abad, Deborah Perlman, Nathalie Alfonzo, and Sharon Lee Hart
